Mr. Bennets

We learn that Mr. Bennet's property is entailed, meaning that it must pass to a man after Mr. Bennet's death and cannot be inherited by any of his daughters. So in order for Mr. Bennets property to go to his daughters they have to go directly to the daughter's husbands. Do you believe this is fair in the way that the daughters are directly related to Mr. Bennet but they don't get the estate and that their husbands will get it? I believe that property could be owned by women and men and that the property should be distributed throughout the family not just the men of the family do.

The children no matter what gender should be allowed to receive the property that their parents own. In this time however it was only a male family member like a nephew,or even batter a son, that can get the property. Mr. Bennet only has five daughters and no sons, so once he passes away it will go to Mr. Collins his nephew. He is trying to get his daughters married off before he does die, so they won’t become homeless.
